Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks – A total fire ban in NSW for New Years Eve means the City if Sydney will need to apply for a special excemption.

The Sydney New Years Eve fireworks is possibly not going ahead after the NSW Rural Fire Service declared a state wide fire ban.

Pressure is already mounting on the City of Sydney to call off the 2019 New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Now with a total fire ban in place for all of the state, another hurdle is in the way.

The City of Sydney has applied for special permission. However other fireworks displays in Sydney have not been approved.

In Parramatta the authorities won’t allow the fireworks to go ahead. Just 25kms away from the Sydney CBD and Harbour Bridge.

Parramatta’s council HAS NOT received an exemption for fireworks display. Considered too dangerous so cancelled. It will instead donate $10,000 to @NSWRFS. Only 25km from #sydneyfireworks, which will take place during a total fire ban if exemption granted

Regional centres across NSW have now called off New Year’s Eve fireworks, including Wagga Wagga, Tweed Heads, Armidale, Port Macquarie, Shell Harbour, Berry and Huskisson.
