Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks cancelled ?
Sydney- The deputy Premier of NSW has called for the Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks to be cancelled.
A growing chorus of personalities and people power is coming out, to call for the annual Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks extravaganza to be called off.
In a tweet, the NSW deputy Premier called for the city of Sydney to abandon the fireworks in the wake of the devastating fires across the region.
“The risk is too high and we must respect our exhausted RFS volunteers. If regional areas have had fireworks banned, then let’s not have two classes of citizens. We’re all in this crisis together,” John Barilaro said.
A spokesperson for the city of Sydney said the Sydney New Years Eve Cancellation idea was not happening.
The Premier had previously supported the fireworks, saying the Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks event quo’s go ahead as planned.
“If the RFS, if the experts, say it’s safe to have the fireworks continue, well, we should do that. Sydney is one of the first cities in the world welcoming in the new year,” Ms Berejiklian said.
New Year’s Eve 2019 is a dangerous day for fires in NSW, the BOM said.
Hot conditions, high winds and fires still burning should create hazardous conditions just as Sydney prepares to ring in the new year.

More than 250,000 people have signed an online petition to cancel the 2019 Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks.
The NSW bushfires in 2019 has seen mass devastation, including 1000 homes lost, several lives and an estimated 480 million animals. The fires have burned an area greater than Belgium across NSW alone.
