A Northern Beaches Sydney Mums Group argument became physical after the online group debate turns into an in-person meeting.
A pair of Sydney mums went from fighting on Facebook to physically brawling, a report by Northern Beachs Police said.
The women, both aged in their 30s, were involved in an argument on an Facebook mum group chat about coronavirus and its effects.
The pair agreed “to resolve their differences in person”, Northern Beaches Police Area Command wrote in a statement on Facebook.
The women met, each accompanied by a freiend.
Before long bystanders were trying to intervene, with the “women pushing, slapping, pulling hair before they both fell to the ground and were briefly unconscious”.
Both women required treatment at hospital.
Both women ended up in hospital.
“The argument quickly escalated from verbal to physical; pushing, slapping, hair pulling and finally both on the ground, briefly unconscious, all despite the efforts of bystanders trying to intervene,” officers said.
“Both ended up in hospital, one needing a scan for a possible brain injury and the other x-rays for a shoulder injury as well as treatment for cuts, bruising and swelling to her arms, upper body and neck.”
Police have taken out a Personal Violence Order against one of the women.
Charges are yet to be laid as investigations continue.
