Diamond Princess Coronavirus : Hundreds of Australians Exposed

A cruise holiday has turned disastrous as thousands exposed to the Coronavirus.

Ten people on board a cruise liner, including two Australians, docked in the Japanese port of Yokohama have tested positive for coronavirus.

Japan’s Health Minister has said, a figure that could rise as medical screening of passengers and crew continues.

Health officials were testing people who had shown symptoms such as fevers

Health checks began after an 80-year-old Hong Kong man tested positive for Coronavirus on the ship.

The 10 confirmed cases were among 31 results from 273 people tested so far, Japan’s Health Minister Katsunobu Kato told a news conference.

There are around 3,700 passengers and crew aboard the Carnival cruise ship Diamond Princess.

The 10 who have tested positive have been taken to several hospitals in Kanagawa, south-west of Tokyo.

Three are Japanese citizens and all are aged between 50 and 80.

At this stage, none are in a serious condition.
